All adult programs in School District No 8 are delivered through the Distance Education School of the Kootenays.
Students over the age of 18 may enroll with SD#8 DL to obtain credits towards the BC Adult Dogwood Diploma, or to acquire credits towards post-secondary applications.
Adults who have graduated (graduated adults) may take specific courses tuition-free under certain conditions.
Non-Graduated Adult (students over the age of 18) may complete courses to receive credit towards the British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (the Dogwood) or the Adult Graduation Diploma (the Adult Dogwood).
To earn the British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (the Dogwood), the student must:
Complete all courses required for graduation.
To earn the Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood), an adult student:
Must obtain at least three courses after being admitted into the adult program.
May carry over two eligible courses taken before they began the adult program.
May take courses from either colleges or school districts, or they can use qualifying courses from both systems and combine the attained credits to satisfy the Adult Graduation Program requirements.
Adult students who have graduated may take tuition-free courses. A tuition fee may be applied to courses not covered in the list of tuition-free courses.
