Application Deadline September 26
The Global Intercultural Experiences (GIE) Oaxaca Program is open to all Grade 10 to 12 local and international students in School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) and the deadline to apply is Monday, September 26, 2022.
Interested students and their parents are asked to email Teacher Kathi Knapik at kathi.knapik@sd8.school to arrange a phone or video chat.

What GIE Oxaca is About
GIE Oaxaca is a humanitarian, Spanish language and Mexican cultural program with a spring break service trip to Mexico to build houses. It emphasizes experiential learning.
Students who participate in the program receive 4 course credits for GIE 12.
The GIE Oaxaca student group is limited to 13 students from across the district. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
